Initial Website Set-Up & Picking A Website Template

MotorDesk provides a powerful set of tools for customising your website style, content and functionality.

Picking A Template

MotorDesk's website templates provide a quick-start to getting your website design set-up. 99% of the functionality offered by each template is available with all the other templates, and without a template - the template is just automating the initial set-up for you.

To pick a template go to the Website -> Template section and browse the selection of templates. A video of each template is provided to help you see what it looks like in action.

Once you've picked a template simply scroll to the bottom of the page and select 'Install Template'. Note you have the choice to disable what template elements will be installed, so for example if you're happy with your current Search Result design you prevent that from being overwritten when installing the template.

Templates install in a matter of seconds and you can freely install new templates whenever you like - you are not committed to your first choice!

Template Requires Upgrade

A small number of templates utilise our Ultra modules which are only available with the MotorDesk Scale plan or above. These modules provide enhanced functionality designed for larger dealerships.

Browse Your Website

Take a moment to familiarise yourself with your website. By default you will have a Homepage, a Sell My Car page, a Contact page, and your Vehicle pages. Some templates have additional pages like Customer Reviews, and all templates come with a Privacy Policy page.

Vehicle Pages & Sub-Pages

The Vehicle pages consist on a main vehicle search page with vehicle comparison and favourite sub-pages. A dedicated page is also provided for each vehicle which has a range of sub-pages available depending on your account set-up, these range from enquiry and booking forms to vehicle reservation and finance calculator tools.

Customising Your Design

From the Website section of MotorDesk you will find various sections for managing your website Header, Footer and Navigation, as well as a range of branding sections for customising your website Fonts, Styles and Colours.

There are also three design tools for customising your Search Results, Vehicle Summary (used for latest and related stock content), and the Vehicle Overview which is shown on the vehicle sub-pages.
