You can create 'Checklists' in MotorDesk which can be assigned to vehicles. This gives you an easy way to work through tasks which need to be completed when preparing and selling a vehicle.
To create your initial checklist templates simply go to the Business -> Checklist section, from here you can add and manage different checklists to be applied to individual vehicles when needed. These create the initial default checklists which you can then amend once applied to each vehicle, helping to speed up the process of adding repetitive tasks. You may for example create one called 'Vehicle Preparation' or 'Vehicle Handover'.
Once you've entered the name of your new checklist and clicked 'Add Checklist' you'll be asked to add different tasks to this particular checklist.
You can give each Task within the Checklist any name you like and add it to the checklist with the 'Add Task' button.
Once you've added all of the tasks you want to be part of the checklist, simply click 'Save Checklist'.
You will find a 'Checklist' column in the Vehicle -> Browse Vehicles section enabling you to quickly identify vehicles with checklists, and to quickly navigate to view those checklists.
By default, this column will be show 'No Checklist' button for each vehicle, or will show the number of task remaining to-do - if click on this button you will be taken to the vehicle's Checklist section.
Each vehicle has it's own Checklists section where you can assign and complete the checklist.
Using our example from before, you could assign the 'Vehicle Preparation' checklist to this vehicle. Once assigned, you will see the full list of tasks you assigned to this checklist with a checkbox next to each, along with the option to add new tasks to the vehicle's checklist.
The Vehicle -> Checklist Overview section allows you to choose a checklist from a drop-down menu in the top left, and it will then show a list of every vehicle that is assigned to that checklist.
From this section you can easily view all vehicles which are waiting for a particular task to be completed, and you can mark tasks as done in bulk. Selecting the task name in the column header will sort the column but the status, enabling you to quickly bring incomplete tasks to the top of the list.
