We can import your existing stock from AutoTrader into your MotorDesk account, saving you from having to add them all individually. Please carefully follow the steps below.
Step 1: Ensure that AutoTrader is connected under Business -> Sales Channels.
To connect AutoTrader to MotorDesk Please email AutoTrader technical support to request 'AutoTrader Stock Management API and Leads API access for MotorDesk'. Please CC in MotorDesk's contact email.
Step 2: When AutoTrader is connected, let us know your AutoTrader Dealer ID. This can be found by pressing 'Details' next to your AutoTrader sales channel.
Copy your Dealer ID and send it to MotorDesk's contact email address and confirm that you would like your vehicles imported.
Please also let us know whether you'd like us to reset your account or not. Resetting your account will remove any contacts, deals, invoices, leads, offers, purchase, vehicles, website statistics. Website and Business setup are not affected.
Step 3: We will let you know once your vehicles have been imported successfully and you can check them all in your Business -> Browse Vehicles section.
Make sure to enable the sold, complete and deleted filters to see the full list of imported vehicles.
As the vehicle status category names slightly differ between AutoTrader and MotorDesk, do check the import to make sure the vehicles are correctly categorised as 'Draft, For Sale, Sold or Deleted'.
For example, a vehicle that is "Sale In Progress" on AutoTrader will simply come in as "For Sale" on MotorDesk.
IMPORTANT
While we import your vehicles please refrain from making changes in MotorDesk and AutoTrader until we confirm the import is complete as these changes may not be imported/synchornised correctly.
Once the import is complete please use MotorDesk for all stock management and refrain from making changes to your stock in AutoTrader Portal as these changes will not be reflected in MotorDesk.
