MotorDesk allows you to add pre-defined products and services to speed up your invoice creation.
You may have other products or services you wish to sell using MotorDesk, this could be anything from car air fresheners and extended warranties to MOTs and child car seats, or even services like valeting and delivery.
You can add these products/services into MotorDesk as pre-defined products, ready to simply add to an invoice/order at the point of sale. To do this simply go to the Sales -> Products section to add a new product to your product library.
Start by naming the product, i.e. Warranty. You can then add an internal code and a description, and then enter the price for this product (excluding VAT) and then select the VAT amount. If you only know the price including VAT simply enter, select the correct TAX rate and then click the calculator icon next to the price - this will reverse calculate the price to remove the VAT.
Below you'll see checkboxes under 'Type'. By default, these products are able to be included on invoices and purchase invoices (enabled by checking the 'Invoice' and 'Purchase Invoice' boxes under 'Type', and they therefore can be added to any invoice/order made with a customer or supplier.
Check the box that says 'Checkout' to allow these products to be bought directly by the customer from the website or as part of a 'Deal Builder' purchase.
You may wish to offer different prices for different amounts of the product, i.e a 36 month warranty at a better value than a 24 month warranty, or a special deal on certain products.
Changing 'No Option' to either 'Single' or 'Multiple' will give you boxes where you can enter different options at different prices. Using our warranty example, this could be '12 Month Warranty' ranging to '5 Year Warranty', each at different price points. You can highlight any of them as 'Recommended', 'Most Popular' or 'Best Value' which will then be highlighted in the online checkout. You can add up to 50 options per product.
The only difference that 'Multiple' offers over 'Single' is the ability to select multiple options rather than just one, with the ability to require a 'Minimum quantity selection of products for purchase. This would be for instance if you were offering a 'Three For The Price Of Two Deal' and needed at least three products to be chosen. You can also select a 'Maximum' quantity.
