Changing Vehicle Registration (Number Plate)

To change a vehicle's registration (number plate) - for example, from a personalised registration back to the original - simply go to that vehicle's 'Settings' section. Towards the bottom of the vehicle's Settings section you will find the 'Change Registration' feature which allows you to update the registration, and to retrieve up-to-date data for the vehicle.

When changing the registration, the core vehicle data will be update. Therefore, it is important to check the data after changing the registration - non-vehicle data such as the description and images will not be affected.

Note: You won't be able to update the vehicle registration if that change hasn't been updated in our vehicle data database yet - this can take several days following a change being made with the DVLA.
